SIGHTSEEING TOURS, WALKING TOURS WITH LICENSED PRIVATE GUIDES AND DRIVERS, IN ENGLISH
LUCCA is one of the least crowded and most attractive cities in Tuscany. Here, art, charm, people blend together and create a special atmosphere not to be missed. A tour guide will help you to better understand the spirit of this city. An appointment can be made either in Piazzale Verdi, if you arrive by car or bus, or in the lobby of your hotel if you are staying in Lucca. Below are suggested itineraries:
You will stroll along San Paolino street, stop at composer Puccini's statue and house and then continue on to the XII century church San Michele in Foro, You will then proceed to the cathedral San Martino (inside master works such as the image of the “holy face” and the renaissance tomb of Ilaria del Carretto), and end the tour with the church San Frediano. During the tour, you will walk along medieval streets lined with characteristic shops, cafés and medieval towers. A highlight of this tour is the unique oval square that once used to be the Roman amphitheatre: in the thick walls that surround the square you will see the homes of the Lucchesi inhabitants and some restaurants, while in the centre of the square women sit chatting and children play soccer.
